It is 5:30am. Marianne is late for work in her bright red Fiat 500.

Should she tailgate me in the right lane even though there are 5 other completely vacant lanes?

Of course!

How else would I be able to hear the scratching from her 2 and a half foot headlamp-eyelashes on the back of my bumper?

Those eyelashes create so much drag she requires to bump draft me to reduce her fuel costs.

Style > practicality people! Gotta cut down on fuel costs without jeopardizing taste whenever you can.

She has kids to feed you know.

At 5:30 I'm tooling through my residential area when I decide to check my rear view. No headlights visible but, as we pass under a street lamp, I see a Malibu behind me. So far up my ass that only the top quarter of their windshield is visible

Being in the old Dakota where everything's messed up and the brakes don't matter, I hold the slow pedal down for a few seconds. Just letting them know by way of my tailgate-mounted-bright-as-fuck-chmsl that "hey you should probably stay more than a few inches away from the PURE STEEL on my ass-end"

I stop at a four-way. As would be expected, they blow right through it and then attempt to pass me, in a school zone, crossing two sets of double-yellows. I performed a maneuver that simply said "not a good idea, girls. Not a good idea. (By this time yes I got a clear enough look at the occupants to notice their race, gender and age demographic)

Up ahead is a stop light; one notorious for taking ages to change. I stop at it as usual, these girls hook a quick left to slip through the parking lot adjacent to the street and hop out, victorious in their venture, on the other side. Alas victory, it seems, would not be theirs. What time it took them to pull into the lot, navigate the steep incline and curbs, and get to the other side, was longer than it took for the light to change and me to saunter on through the intersection. They ended up right behind me again

Defeated, they kept their distance and drove like normal fucking human beings for the remainder of our interaction
